Guided Walk

Discovery Walk

Staff naturalist Sarah Hatfield leads a “Discovery Walk” for elementary school children.

The grounds are available to the public from dawn until dusk free of charge for self-guided walks.  Groups of 10 or more can schedule a 1.5-hour guided walk for $6 per person.

Groups are welcome to stay longer to enjoy a self-guided building tour, to shop in the Blue Heron Gift Shop, to use our picnic facilities, or to go on an extended hike.  While we will allow you to leave compostable food waste and recyclable plastic, glass, and metal containers, we request that you take other trash home with you, as we do not have sufficient storage for trash between pick-ups.  Thank you for your understanding.

If the weather turns too foul for outdoor explorations, we will provide indoor activities not generally available to the casual visitor.

Schedule as early as possible so that we can arrange staffing.  Guided walks are generally available during our regular business hours, but after-hours (or even before-hours early morning) walks are also possible with enough advance planning.

If you would like one of our naturalists to call you about a guided walk, please fill out and submit this form:
